Candida Albicans is a yeast (sometimes referred to as a fungus) that exists inside all of us.
Normally it presents no problems, but today's widespread use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, contraceptive pills, steroids and sugar-rich diets can cause a proliferation of this yeast. The yeast produces toxins which disable the immune system, leading to viral and bacterial infections.
Candida can often be the cause of a wide variety of problems such as fatigue, diarrhea, depression, anxiety, indigestion, diminished libido, recurring infections such as bladder and ear infections, and for women frequent vaginal infections and menstrual-related symptoms.

Enzymes
· Lysozyme is a small enzyme that attacks the cell walls of bacteria and destroys the structural integrity of the cell wall so that bacteria burst under their own internal pressure.
· Cellulase converts cellulose (long chains of glucose molecules) to glucose. It is theorized that Candida's cell wall is partially composed of cellulose making it vulnerable to cellulase. The cell would be disrupted and the yeast would die.
· Hemicellulase: Candida's fibrous structures can be vulnerable to hemicellulase, allowing Candida's cell wall to be more quickly and completely digested.
Enzymes also help by ridding the intestinal tract of undigested foodstuff that could be a source of food for Candida.
Botanicals
· Pau d'Arco: The anecdotal evidence for the anti-candida properties of Pau d'Arco is substantial. It is gaining acceptance as a good anti-fungal for intestinal problems.
· Caprylic Acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid derived from coconut that has fungicidal properties, providing protection from Candida Albicans which is a fungal organism.
· Olive Leaf Extract : The leaves of the olive plant have been shown to have significant antimicrobial action, and are effective against many strong strains of fungi (which include yeasts such as Candida Albicans), viruses and bacteria.
· Grapefruit-Seed Extract is effective against more than 800 bacterial and viral strains, 100 strains of fungus, and a large number of single and multi-cellular parasites. It has been used with excellent results in patients with chronic intestinal candidiasis.
